E! News is back and is bringing in former The Real co-host Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and NBCU’s Justin Sylvester to host the new series.Â
After E! News was canceled following a drop in ratings and the pandemic, NBCU was desperate to figure out what would work on the network. In August, E! canceled top-rated shows, Daily Pop and Nightly Pop, in an effort to reconstruct the network. The reconstruction has arrived, and E! News will officially be back on fans’ screens.Â
E! News was canceled and has endured a two-year hiatus. The entertainment show features the latest celebrity news and gossip as well. Formerly known to be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the series has maintained a revolving door of co-hosts, from Guilania Rancic to Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins.Â
Tracie Wilson, EVP, NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, and E! News released a statement.Â
“E! News has a long history of entertainment news excellence, and we are excited to bring the show back and continue its legacy. John Redmann and John Pascarella are strategic, respected executive producers with stellar reputations, and Justin and Adrienne are charismatic, seasoned hosts with a genuine interest in pop culture. This is the perfect team to bring a fresh take to this franchise.”Â
On Thursday, Justin Sylvester took to Instagram to announce the news.Â
“YOU GUYS ASKED and hE! ANSWERED! The return of @enews – NOVEMBER 14th! So excited to work with @adriennebailon and the crew over at The new E!News ! *Link in bio*”
Justin Sylvester was the previous host of Daily Pop, along with Nina Parker and Morgan Stewart. In contrast, Bailon-Houghton has experienced her own cancellation of a network talk show, The Real. The daily hour-long show was canceled in April after eight seasons.Â
E! News will return as a late-night show, as it was before being moved to the morning, and will start November 14 at 11:30 p.m. running for an hour.Â
