Adult Industry Halted (AGAIN) This Time Due To Cameron Bay’s HIV+ Status

This morning I woke up to some disturbing news that the p0rn industry has been temporarily shut down again (remember the Syphilis/Mr Marcus fiasco). Well this time it’s a bit more worse than Syphilis. We’re talking HIV+ here. Adult film star, Cameron Bay, has tested positive for HIV. She has worked on and off in the p0rn industry since 2010. According to AVN (Adult Video News)

The FSC (Free Speech Coalition) issued this statement regarding Cameron’s HIV status.

“In cooperation with ATMLA, LATATA, FSC and APHSS, we are saddened to report that the tests involving performer Cameron Bay have been confirmed as positive for HIV. Both Cutting Edge Testing (CET) and Talent Testing Services (TTS) have run separate tests and have confirmed this information.

“Thus far, there is no evidence whatsoever that there has been an on-set transmission of HIV. First generation partner identification and notifications are nearly completed. As a precautionary measure, the production moratorium will remain in place until all first generation partners have been tested and cleared.

“Mark Schechter, owner of ATMLA and agent for Cameron has been in constant communication with Cameron since this information surfaced yesterday. Schechter further states, ‘Cameron is obviously distraught over this conclusive information provided to her today, and yet she has been 100% cooperative with the medical personnel, strictly in the interest of ensuring the fastest possible partner notification for the benefit of all concerned. Cameron has been a model citizen acting responsibly at this most difficult time. Her courage should be lauded.’

Now I need to *side eye* this FSC involvement because this TOTALLY reminds me of the Mr. Marcus Syphilis p0rn halt last summer. There’s always something going on with TTS (Talent Testing Services) and the FSC. *in my Keith Sweat “Something something just ain’t right.”*

Cameron Bay made a statement herself, “As difficult as this news is for me today, I am hopeful that no other performers have been affected. I plan on doing everything possible to assist the medical professionals and my fellow performers. Following that, my long term plan is to take care of myself and my health.”

Now lemme switch gears real quick okay, stay with me. Ya’ll remember Anthony Weiner the politician who texted his johnson on twitter “accidentally” and was found out he was sexting hot chicks like a horny little teenager? Well, according to Gawker, ONE of Weiner’s sexting partners, Sydney Leathers, JUST so happens to be one of the last people to have sex with Cameron Bay on film.

At the end of the day, In MY Opinion, I believe that Talent Testing Services needs to do a much better job. Did you know that you do NOT get tested for Herpes and HPV when you’re in the p0rn industry? Let me rephrase that, you CAN get tested for it, but it will cost you additional funds to do so. Here’s another fact about the industry, “allegedly” (gotta use that word to protect myself, yanno?) many of your favorite p0rnstars has Herpes. I know of a few myself, not entirely sure why people feel the need to tell me tho, but I digress…

I reached out to Cameron Bay via twitter to see if she’d like to comment or even give an exclusive interview. No response as of yet. I wish Cameron the best of luck and to take care of herself and know that being HIV+ is NOT a death sentence. I wish her well.

Now, my problem with all of this is, WHO KNOWINGLY INFECTED HER WITH HIV! Seriously? All this first generation bullcrap the FSC is spilling is just that. What if her film partner, for that day, gave her HIV and ole boy is still filming? Hell, dude can have HIV and he doesn’t even know it. Soooo many questions I have.
