Afrika Bambaataa, who was recently removed from his Zulu Nation position, is once again addressing the scandalous child molestation rumors that have been plaguing him over the last couple of months.
You may recall three men came forward to accuse Bambaataa of sexually molesting them. An alleged bodyguard came forward last week to confirm the claims. During this time, Bambaataa had only briefly spoken about the incident with Ed Lover’s morning show. Now he’s doing a little more talking.
“I never abused nobody. You know, it just sounds crazy to people to say that, hear ‘you abused me,'” Bambaataa tells New York’s Fox 5 in a two-part interview. “You know my thing is you know all my people back then, you know the hundreds of people that been around me. If something like that happened, why you never went to none of them?”
According to Bambaataa, the accusations come as a shock.
“What is the motivation, what is the agenda?” he said. “It’s hard to say. You don’t know what many of these people are thinking. What is behind it. Some parts are saying it could be shakeups. Certain things people might have wanted.”
So far, money hasn’t been brought into the equation and because the incident(s) happened over 30 years ago, a criminal investigation can’t be launched. “I ain’t touched this brother whatsoever,” Bambaataa said of his now 50 year old accuser, Ronald Savage.
