An AI-generated deepfake video featuring Donald Trump sucking on Elon Musk’s toes mysteriously appeared on every television screen inside the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) headquarters in Washington, D.C., Monday morning, leaving staff in shock.
Video:
Along with the bizarre imagery, the video displayed the message: “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.” The phrase appears to be a play on Trump’s own words from last week when he referred to himself as a monarch in a Truth Social post, celebrating his administration’s role in blocking congestion pricing in New York City. In that post, Trump wrote, “LONG LIVE THE KING!”
According to journalist Marisa Kabas, the unexpected broadcast left employees scrambling to take the video down. But there was one major problem—no one knew how. With no apparent way to override the transmission, HUD staff ultimately resorted to unplugging every single TV in the building to stop the footage from playing.
It’s unclear how the video made its way onto HUD’s screens or who was behind the stunt, but the incident raises serious concerns about security vulnerabilities in government systems. Deepfake technology has become increasingly advanced, making it harder to distinguish between real and AI-generated content.
While the source of this particular video remains a mystery, one thing is clear, whoever was behind it wanted to make a statement. And they certainly succeeded in getting people’s attention.
WOW! This actually just happened!
The Monitors were just hacked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to display an AI video of Trump licking Elon Musk’s toes.
The caption over it read: “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.” pic.twitter.com/11JWuH2XfZ
