The anniversary of the “Unite The Right” rally is set to take place this upcoming weekend, and Airbnb is making it clear that they want no parts.
For a second consecutive year, Airbnb, is warning participants that if they are found to be in violation of the company’s policies, they’re reservations can and will be canceled, according to ABC.
The protest, which began in 2017, is led by self-proclaimed white supremacists who took part in the violent event as a means to protect a Confederate statue and preserve “white culture.” Participants marched with torches and an army of guns, physically assaulted those who stood up against them, all while chanting neo-nazi slang.
For Airbnb, this behavior goes against their ethics.
“When we identify and determine that there are those who would be pursuing behavior on the Airbnb platform that would be antithetical to the Airbnb Community Commitment, we seek to take appropriate action, which may include removing them from the platform,” according to a statement from Airbnb.

According to the statement, users must agree to its community commitment to “to treat everyone in the Airbnb community — regardless of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age — with respect, and without judgment or bias.”
