Police have found Akon’s Range Rover that was stolen Monday night.
The brazen theft occurred at an Atlanta Quiktrip located in Buckhead. When Akon walked around to pump the gas and left his keys in the ignition, a Black four-door BMW sedan pulled up. An assailant exited from the passenger side and slid into the driver seat of Akon’s SUV before speeding off with the BMW following close behind him.
According to the police report, “when his tank was almost full, he noticed his white Range Rover…pulling off while he was still pumping his gas.”
Authorities were able to confirm Akon’s account of events using surveillance footage. Luckily, he’d left his cell phone in the car and was able to track it to a road in southwest Atlanta. However, when the police arrived there, the vehicle was already gone. The “Locked Up” singer then tracked it to another location before it was found early Tuesday morning.
Law enforcement has not arrested any suspects in the case, and it is unclear what condition the Range Rover was found in.
