Liquor distributor Diageo has finally put its legal battle with Sean “Diddy” Combs to bed.
In case you forgot, Diddy sued the company months ago, claiming that Diageo was racist against him and the Ciroc and DeLeón Tequila brands. The Bad Boy founder claimed the company underinvested in his liquors, which he also felt was fueled by bigotry. In the court docs, Diddy accused Diageo of treating his product line “worse than others because he is Black.” However, with the feud having the potential to last for several more months, if not years, Diageo settled the matter on Tuesday, Billboard reports.
The specific terms of the settlement, such as possible financial payouts, remain undisclosed. What is known is that Diddy and the company have agreed to amicably part ways. As part of severing their business ties, Diddy would have no further involvement in DeLeón or Cîroc vodka.
“Sean Combs and Diageo have now agreed to resolve all disputes between them. Mr. Combs has withdrawn all of his allegations about Diageo and will voluntarily dismiss his lawsuits against Diageo with prejudice,” the pair said in a joint statement.
This puts an end to just one of Diddy’s legal battles. He is still facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits, which were filed in the days following his swift settlement with ex-girlfriend Cassie. That settlement arrived one day after the singer filed the suit, alleging that Diddy sex trafficked her, physically abused her, and more during their decades-long relationship. Since then, similar claims have popped up accusing the disgraced mogul of similar acts. He continues to maintain his innocence.
