A Texas jury has ordered Alex Jones to pay the parents of a Sandy Hook victim $45.2 million in punitive damages.
This verdict comes just one day after the Infowars founder was ordered to pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages to the student’s parents.
In all, Jones will have to dish out $49.3 million for falsely claiming the nation’s deadliest school shooting was a hoax.
Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis, the parents of a 6-year-old killed in the massacre, originally sued the conspiracy theorist and far-right broadcaster for $15o million in 2018 after he told his listeners the government faked the shooting.
Jones is set to face three additional defamation cases other victims’ families brought on.
