Alexis Skyy has revealed that she no longer supports Donald Trump after learning more about his education policies.
Skyy had previously been vocal about her backing for the former president, recently in an interview with KISS 104.1 FM. She believed he helped more people while in office and claimed many of her friends were also voting for him. However, her views shifted after delving deeper into Trump’s stance on education reform.
“The interview I did regarding voting was done prior to Trump’s statement on the Department of Education. Initially, I wanted to vote for Trump for my own personal reasons. After familiarizing myself with both candidates, I will no longer be voting for him,” she wrote. However, Skyy concluded her post with the incorrect election date. The correct date is Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.
In recent weeks, Trump has declared that he wishes to defund the Department of Education. Additionally, he wants to defund schools that teach students after the African slave trade. This has sparked outrage among educators, parents, and civil rights activists.
Skyy’s decision to withdraw her support is part of a growing trend of former Trump supporters questioning the long-term impact of his policies. Skyy has since stated that she is exploring other political options.
