Just a year after becoming Blackberry’s global creative director, Alicia Keys and Blackberry have parted ways. Keys was brought on to “inspire the future” of the company during it’s BlackBerry 10 OS in January 2013. This week, without mention of what Keys has actually done for the company in the past year, Blackberry thanked her for her services and declined to comment further. Her stint officially ends January 31st.Â
BlackBerry 10 phones sold poorly, and the company was forced to take a nearly $1 billion writedown on unsold devices in September. Ms. Keys, clearly unbothered, is back to tweeting on her iPad.
