Alicia Keys is set to join Usher for his highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime performance.
Eyewitnesses have reported to TMZ that Keys was spotted rehearsing with Usher at the Allegiant Stadium on Thursday. Keys and Usher performing together is a celebratory moment, as their hit record “My Boo” debuted 20 years ago. The record spent 28 weeks atop the Hot 100 after its 2004 release. The track won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and has remained one of the most adored R&B records of the 2000s.
It looks like Usher will be digging deep in the archives for his performance this Sunday. This 15-minute set will likely feature other smash singles such as “Confessions,” “Nice & Slow,” “My Way,” and “Yeah.” The Halftime show comes on the heels of Usher’s bestselling Las Vegas residency, which brought out fellow stars such as Keke Palmer, Kenya Moore, and Doja Cat, to name a few. Leading up to his show, he has also announced his tour and new album, “Coming Home,” which debuted on Friday.
With Keys confirmed to grace the stage with Usher, it’ll be interesting to see what other surprises he has up his sleeve. Neither Keys nor Usher has confirmed their performance, though there were rumors last year that a “My Boo” part two was in the works, though neither has put out any joint records since.
