“Love & Marriage” fans have more seasons of the franchise to look forward to.
OWN has greenlit another season of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” and “Love & Marriage: Detroit.” Additionally, “Love & Marriage: D.C.” has gotten a premiere date of January 27th.
The “Love & Marriage” empire began with “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” which premiered on the Oprah Winfrey Network on January 12th, 2019. The show initially focused on the lives of three African-American entrepreneurial couples in Huntsville, Alabama: Melody and Martell Holt, Maurice Scott and Kimmi Grant Scott, and Marsau and LaTisha Scott. Cameras followed as they navigated love, business, and friendship, even as the Holts went through a painful divorce. It has since led to additional characters being added to the mix and the expansion of the franchise with the well-received spin-offs in D.C. and Detroit.
There have also been rumors of an Atlanta leg of the show, which would hypothetically feature Nene Leakes and Porsha Williams, along with her husband, Simon Guobadia. While creator Carlos King has not shot down the idea, he has confirmed he would like to showcase Black couples in other cities before the cameras landed in Atlanta. For now, the network remains focused on the three “Love & Marriage” shows, which have become household names.
“We look forward to continuing to tell these authentic stories and our successful collaboration with the brilliant Carlos King and his Kingdom Reign Entertainment,” said Tina Perry, President, OWN TV Network and OTT Streaming.
