Former NBA player Allen Iverson is teaming up with footwear company Reebok, to alleviate the fee associated with college applications for seniors attending Bethel high school.

Iverson, whose nickname is ‘The Answer’ due to his legendary career in the league, went to Bethel high, in Hampton, Virginia, and is giving back to his community.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Bethel also recently donated their gymnasium to Iverson back in December.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

On Wednesday, Reebok announced the news, revealing that they’ll be covering the college application fees of the entire rising senior class, which has over 400 students.

According to Complex, the announcement stems from the release of Reebok’s “Origins” pack.

The upcoming release is set to be pay homage to the iconic NBA player’s jersey from high school to college, which both helped jump-start his career as one of the greatest basketball players to ever play in the league.

In a video announcement made to the students, Iverson proudly reveals the exciting news.

“What up, y’all? I got Reebok to cover your college application fees, so skies the limit, and you’ll get a new pair of kicks,” Iverson said.

“I was honestly at a loss for words,” one Bethel High junior Jaelyn Matthews said in response to the surprising news, according to Bleacher Report. “I was just talking to my parents about college application fees, and then when he said it, it was so ironic.”

The pack will feature two of Iverson’s signature basketball sneaks, including ‘Answer V’ and ‘Question Mid.’

The first sneaker is a dark green, gold and black color scheme that represents Bethel High’s team colors while the second shoe is a mix between navy blue and grey, which pays homage to his alma mater, Georgetown University.

“Nothing should limit you from applying to any school you want to consider,” Iverson said. “By working with Reebok to cover the application costs of rising seniors at Bethel High, I want the next generation of game-changers to see college as a route to success, whether they want to be an artist or a doctor.”

Though announced to the students of Bethel High, students worldwide will be able to benefit from this opportunity as well.

Students nationwide will be afforded the same opportunity by applying on Reebok.com.

All they have to do is submit a 200-word essay stating how the cover of their college application will help them achieve their goals.

Those looking to purchase the “Bethel” ‘Answer V’ and ‘Question Mid’ now on Reebok.com. Prices range from between $140 to $150.
