We recently reported that former NBA star Allen Iverson had a hefty child support bill he was asked to pay in 72 hours or risk facing some serious jail time. It looks like Iverson got the memo that the judge was not playing around and has forked over the $40,000 he was asked to pay.
Allen Iverson owed his ex-wife Tawanna $8,000 a month in child support since their divorce was finalized back in February. Unfortunately, Iverson refused to pay, causing Tawanna to go to court with an ultimatum. Either he pays or he sits in jail. In new court docs filed in Fulton County, GAÂ Iverson said he never paid the money because he was led to believe he and Tawanna would reconcile. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
Well, Allen held up his end of the deal and shelled out the necessary cash to avoid jail time. Good thing too. I highly double the prison basketball team is any better than the NBA.
