Weslie Fowler, the 16-year-old daughter of Allison Holker, has recently come forward to defend her mother following the criticism she received after being open about her late husband, Stephen “Twitch” Boss, suicide.

In a 30-minute Instagram Live session, Weslie addressed her mother’s backlash and took a moment to clear the air, explaining her family’s intentions.
“I’m so sick of getting hate comments and seeing my mom get hate for literally losing the person that she loves. I have siblings. This is their dad. This is who my siblings are going to grow up knowing about, and they’re going to see all this hurtful stuff on social media.”
The criticism against Allison heightened after she shared some details from her upcoming memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light” regarding Twitch’s mental health struggles and substance usage. Allison mentioned her journey with processing her husband’s death and raised awareness surrounding addiction and mental health. However, Weslie asserted that her mother had good intentions and wasn’t out to gain fame or money.
“My mom gets called a murderer. They say that she’s money-hungry. That she needs more fame. That’s not how my mom is,” Weslie added. “When you have two years after somebody committed suicide to sit here and question every interaction you had, every single thing they did, obviously my mom’s like, ‘Maybe I should have paid more attention to him smoking a lot of weed.’”
Additionally, one of the most standout points in Weslie’s video involved the NDA’s Allison supposedly made everyone sign in order to attend Twitch’s funeral. While many people found this to be disturbing, Weslie said the move was put into place as a protective measure to prevent any exploitation. She also stated that the NDA signing wasn’t a new concept and was already a common practice even when the dancer was still alive.
“My mom asked for NDAs to be signed when we were seeing Stephen’s body because God forbid somebody that went to that took a photo of Stephen and put it on the internet,” Weslie said. “That’s the type of thing that NDAs are for. It’s not so you can never talk about Stephen.”
Nonetheless, Weslie revealed that she has chosen to distance herself from Twitch’s family due to the uncomfortability despite her younger siblings still maintaining a relationship with them.
