Alyssa Scott, the mother of Nick Cannon’s late son Zen, has spoken out after her name went viral following the news that Cannon is expecting another child.
Over the weekend, it was announced that the “Drumline” actor and Johnny Manziel’s ex-wife, Bre Tiesi, were expecting a new bundle of joy. Photos from their baby shower were leaked to the media, forcing both of them to speak on the pregnancy. As soon as the news spread, people immediately began bringing up Scott and 5-month-old Zen, who passed away in December from brain cancer. The unwanted attention eventually led Scott to release a statement on her Instagram Story Monday. The model thanked everyone for their continued support of her family since the devastating loss but stated that she was not here for Zen being the topic of his father’s baby announcement.
“It is painful having my son be a part of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself,” Scott wrote. Despite the unfortunate set of circumstances, Scott says she is “centered” and “at peace.”
During Monday’s episode of The Nick Cannon Show, the 41-year-old says he was hesitant about breaking the news of his latest son on the way following Zen’s death. But, after pictures of a very pregnant Tiesi made their rounds on the internet, he felt that he needed to address the situation.
