Amanda Bynes is taking steps to right her wrongs. The controversial 33-year-old Nickelodeon actress took to Instagram earlier this week alongside her fiance Paul, whom she met while in rehab, to apologize to a few fellow celebrities she viciously trolled on Twitter back in 2013.
“I just wanted to post a video to say I’m sorry to everyone whom I called ugly on Twitter. I was feeling so ugly at the time, and it was really hard to express myself at the time because I was so drugged out,” she said.
Bynes targeted Michelle Obama and Jay-Z for their looks, as well as Chrissy Teigen, who she referred to as an “old, ugly model.” She took even more venomous aim at Rihanna, boldly tweeting, “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough” and “unlike ur fugly self I don’t do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met ur ugly face in person! U aren’t pretty u know it!”
The actress later revealed that she has been clean for a while now.
“Now I’ve remained sober for over a year — same with Paul,” said Bynes, referring to her soon to be hubby. “I just wanted to let you know that I love you guys, and I’m so happy now. I feel like I got what’s mine, and that is Paul.”
The Instagram video, which appears to show Bynes in a good space, follows reports that Bynes’ parents do not approve of her getting married to an addict who is also recovering. Since Bynes remains under a conservatorship controlled by her mother, Lynn, she may be prevented from marrying Paul, since Lynn ultimately has the final say so.
