Amazon is gearing up the launch of its department stores, which are equipped with high-tech dressing rooms.
Amazon is getting futuristic with its department store plans. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the stores are set to go up first in San Francisco and Columbus, Ohio.
The New York Post reports that Amazon is testing an application that would allow customers to scan a QR code for all the items they want to try on. It would then notify store associates to load the dressing rooms up with those specific items.
Other apparel items would be suggested via a touch screen monitor that the shopper will have access to as they are trying on clothes. The stores will have clothing for men and women.
A spokesperson for the company said Amazon won’t “comment on rumors or speculation.”
