As the pandemic continues and information is rapidly changing, Amazon is looking to hire new employees during the pandemic.

According to the company, they are looking to hire 100,000 additional workers in warehouses and delivery services.

The main reason for the need of additional employees is to meet the surge in demand amid the current outbreak of COVID-19 that’s caused the world to shut down.

Amazon is adding full-time and part-time positions, CNBC reports.

Amazon will raise the pay by $2 an hour in the U.S., £2 per hour in the U.K., and  €2 per hour in many E.U. countries until the end of April, the outlet reports.

Amazon, at the moment, pays its warehouse and delivery workers $15 or more throughout different areas in the U.S.

Amazon’s need for hiring is targeted at those whose jobs and income have been “lost or furloughed” due to the outbreak.

“We want those people to know we welcome them on our teams until things return to normal, and their past employer is able to bring them back,” the company added,” the company said.
