Prime Video’s “Harlem” will conclude with its third season, a surprise revealed alongside the release of its trailer on Wednesday. The announcement follows November’s revelation that the season would premiere on January 23rd, with no prior indication that it would be the show’s final chapter.

Despite the bittersweet news, the entire gang is returning for one last round of drama and fun. Fans can expect more from Angie (Shoniqua Shandai), Quinn (Grace Byers), Camille (Meagan Good), and Tye (Jerrie Johnson) as they face the challenges of motherhood, singlehood, and career transitions. The season picks up after last season’s jaw-dropping cliffhanger.

Creator and executive producer Tracy Oliver expressed her gratitude.

“I’m beyond grateful to the whole team at Amazon for giving me the chance of a lifetime to tell these four Black women’s stories and shoot it in the city I love: Harlem. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m honored to see the impact it’s made in the culture.” She added, “A huge thank you to everyone who’s watched the show. I’m excited to finally share our best season yet.”

Season 3 will feature newcomers Kofi Siriboe, Logan Browning, Robin Givens, and Gail Bean in recurring roles. Siriboe will portray Seth, an MLB player, while Browning plays Portia, an edgy woman who stirs up trouble. Givens stars as Jacqueline, Eva’s mother, with Bean as Eva, a playful venture capitalist working with Tye. Tyler Lepley also returns as Ian, Quinn’s complicated love interest.

It’s unknown if the cast was made aware of the cancellation before Wednesday. However, the ending of “Harlem” follows a sad trend that has affected other beloved shows such as “All American: Homecoming,” “Bel-Air,” and “Riches.”
