Amber rose, author, women’s advocate and entrepreneur, is adding yet another talent to her repertoire: talk show host.
It is being reported that the former model has landed a talk show that will air weekly on VH1, and is slated to premiere sometime this summer.
The weekly series will feature Rose conducting interviews with various celebrities, and will include provocative yet entertaining conversations about race, relationships and overall pop culture.
This show is no small feat for used to be homeless Rose: it will be produced by Stage 29 Production, (a company presided by Dr. Phil and his son Jay McGraw) and air on VH1 at a time where ratings are sky rocketing. Mona Scott Young is also consulting executive producer.
The GM For VH1, Chris Mcarthy said her past and will to overcome is the main reason they were sold on Rose. “Amber has inspired millions of young women by overcoming homelessness to become a wildly successful entrepreneur,” he also adds, “Amber is a perfect addition to the VH1 family because our audience is interested in hearing unique perspectives from those who are unapologetically themselves and not afraid to take a stand on issues they are passionate about”
Rose told fans she is extremely excited to join the network, and ready to make her talk show debut.
This isn’t her first tv appearance either, unscripted credits include: Russell Simmons’ Running Russell Simmons, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Master of the Mix and, more recently, ABC scripted comedy Black-ish.
An exact date, or day of the week the new talk show will air, hasn’t been released yet but should be soon.
