Amber Rose had some encouraging words for the mean girls in the industry following the latest feud between rap girls Nicki Minaj and Latto.
The two got into a heated social media exchange Thursday, which resulted in one being called a Karen and another an old bully.
It’s a trend that’s been happening a lot over the past few weeks; female emcee’s talking down to one another.
Amber Rose weighed in on the matter on her Instagram story . “Hey y’all, good morning. Hmmm… I’m just like waking up and seeing like everything that’s going on, and you know me, I’m just like an unproblematic queen, but I’m also a feminist, so I do wanna speak on something real quick because you know I feel like… I feel like two things, one when you call a mixed person like a Karen, it’s really like just dismissing their blackness, and I feel like that happens often, and I don’t feel like that’s ok,” she stated
“But I also feel like as women like we call each other old at like a very young age as if we’re supposed to just stop our lives at a certain age and, like you know, just kind of give up on everything and not continue to do what we love which I also think is really f***ed up.”
She went on to say she gets using “old age” in an argument to throw jabs. She then pointed out the old men who have continued to flourish past the age of forty, including “Dj Khalid, 2Chainz, Rick Ross, Puff, Jay Z, Kanye, Dr. Dre, Eminem.”
She says those men and others are appreciated and supported for never giving up. But when it comes to women, it’s a different story. “It’s very problematic that you know that society just expects us [women] to just kind of roll over and die.”
“I think that’s whack.”
Amber said the issue is her business because she is a woman. She said she loves all women and supports everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, or age.
“Let’s just continue to flourish and just really to support each other. And support Black businesses. And just like…let’s just be kind.”
“I really want us to be kind and be positive.”
