An AMC theater in Los Angeles experienced a chaotic scene after a fire alarm interrupted movie showings and sent moviegoers into a panic.
Authorities are still working to learn what caused the alarm to sound at the AMC Century City location around 7 p.m. Saturday.
According to TMZ, AMC staffers didn’t do a good job helping guests out of the cinemas. Instead, guests shuffled into the lobby.
Sources also told the outlet some people were freaking out because there was no information being communicated.
Sources say some guests thought it could have been an active shooter situation.
Once it was determined that movies were interrupted and not resuming, the cinema gave out refunds or movie vouchers.
