An American English teacher has been arrested and charged for operating an amphetamine factory in Taiwan.
An American teacher identified by the Chinese surname Lin was one of four people arrested for their alleged involvement in a massive amphetamine factory operation. The entire sting got busted after police received a tip that two men, who’d previously been arrested for making narcotics, returned to the game with a new narcotics business in Taitung City, The New York Post reports.
Thinking Lin’s job as an English teacher would ward off the attention of law enforcement, Lin and his two comrades built and operated an amphetamine factory out of a building that used to be a bar Lin owned.
Despite their attempt to stay under the radar, the fist of the law came knocking. During an investigation, authorities connected Lin’s trips to a warehouse, where production equipment was being stored, to the drug factory.
Lin, and three others, Lo, Chen and Cheng, were all taken into custody on Mach 11 after being raided, the New York Post reports. In the bust, police seized more than 2.5 pounds of amphetamines, more than 21 pounds of unfinished amphetamine, equipment and more.
