American Idol has announced that they would temporarily be replacing Katy Perry.
According to Luke Bryan, there will be many “big-time” Hollywood stars filling in for Kerry, as well as Lionel Richie.
“It’s big time. It’s big time,” Bryan told Entertainment Tonight. “The people that we have filling in, contestants have used their songs many, many times. A lot more than mine!”
Perry, who has recently been under fire for her harsh remarks about the show’s competitors, would benefit from a break from the judge’s bench.
Most recently, the Idol crowd booed Perry for criticizing Nutsa Buzaladze’s bejeweled clothing choices.
A month before that, Perry received backlash for mom-shaming competitor Sara Beth Liebe, 25, a mother of three.
