The 73-year-old British-born taxi driver has initiated legal proceedings in London’s High Court against Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay. According to court documents, he is pursuing a total of £730,000, equivalent to over $930,000. In the filing, Mitch alleges that the two women auctioned off possessions belonging to Amy in both 2021 and 2023.
Court documents state that Mitch reportedly argued that Catriona and Gourlay listed the items in their own names and on their own behalf. He contends that this act constituted the conversion of his daughter’s property for their own use.
As per an online biography, Parry had been Amy’s stylist since 2005, working closely with her for the following six years, even sharing work, travel, and living experiences. Mitch is pursuing a legal claim against Parry for £534,192.90, which exceeds $678,000, as part of the overall damages sought.
Gourlay, on the other hand, had a longstanding friendship with Amy and had previously discussed their close relationship in the BBC Two documentary “Reclaiming Amy.” In the legal action, Mitch is seeking damages of £198,041.07, which is over $250,000, from Gourlay.
Amy was discovered dead in her London apartment in July 2011, with the cause of death initially thought to be a drug overdose. Subsequent investigations, however, confirmed that the singer succumbed to accidental alcohol poisoning after resuming drinking following a period of abstinence. She was 27 years old at the time of her passing.
