A lawsuit has been filed against a Metro-Atlanta doctor and a hospital in Clayton County following a tragic incident during a baby delivery.
Attorneys representing Jessica Ross and her boyfriend, Treveon Taylor, described on Wednesday the events that transpired during the child’s delivery at Southern Regional Medical Center on July 9th.
“When the womb was opened, the feet came out, the body came out, and there was no head,” Dr. Roderick Edmond, one of the couple’s lawyers, said. “Dr. St. Julian came in, and she, in the process of trying to deliver the baby, pulled on the baby’s head and neck so hard, and manipulated them so hard, that the bones of the baby’s skull, face, and neck were broken.”
Now, the couple has initiated a lawsuit against Dr. Tracey St. Julian, in addition to the hospital and multiple nurses who were part of the delivery process. The allegations include charges of gross negligence and an attempt to conceal the events that took place.
Edmond further shared even more unsettling particulars about the events in the delivery room.
“When they wrapped this baby up tightly, they propped the baby’s head up on top of the blanket to make it appear that the baby’s head was attached when it wasn’t,” he said.
As per the attorneys’ account, St. Julian and the hospital’s medical personnel neglected to report the gruesome occurrence to law enforcement. Instead, they permitted the couple to learn about the decapitation through the funeral home.
Nevertheless, the attorneys revealed that the Clayton County Police and the Medical Examiner’s office are investigating the matter. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has acknowledged that although they have not initiated an investigation, they did conduct an autopsy as part of the case.
