Angel Reese is now ready to take on the big screen.
After dominating college basketball, landing a spot in the WNBA, and signing major modeling deals, Reese is officially making space for a new title: actress. She recently hit the red carpet at the New York Film Festival for the premiere of “House of Dynamite,” where she made her feature film debut. And she’s not stopping there.
“I want to get an acting coach,” she told People. “I was talking to Common; he’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of ‘Silo,’ and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach.’”
“So I’m going to hire an acting coach,” she added. “I model already, so it’s like adding to the resume. I’m young right now, so I’m going to do it while I’m young.”
Reese admitted she was nervous filming alongside the likes of Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, and Kaitlyn Dever, but said the cast made her feel comfortable and supported.
Beyond the screen, Reese is making bold statements about the realities of being a professional athlete. When asked online to pick between modeling and basketball, she replied, “I’ll never pick because my dream job doesn’t pay me enough, while my side job pays me 7 figures.”
On her podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” she clapped back at critics who questioned her dedication to basketball because of her looks. “Just because I’m fine, does not mean I don’t take basketball seriously,” she said. “Being fine, I have to, that’s my thing. But I also hoop.”
Reese added that her jam-packed schedule speaks for itself.
“I got up this morning and worked out, and then got my makeup done,” she said. “I maximize my 24 hours… I’m sorry for those who feel some type of way that they can’t be fine and play basketball.”
Angel Reese isn’t choosing one lane — she’s paving her own road. Whether it’s hoops, high fashion, or Hollywood, she’s proving there’s no limit to what she can do.
