WNBA superstar Angel Reese has just partnered with McDonald’s for an iconic collaboration.
Starting February 10th, fans can order the Angel Reese Special, featuring a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese topped with McDonald’s new Bold BBQ Sauce, along with fries and a drink. The fast-food giant’s first-ever national meal collab with a female athlete, this partnership solidifies Reese’s impact beyond the court.
“McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All-American in 2020,” Reese shared in a press release. “It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy.”
Currently starring in the new Unrivaled 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, Reese continues to make history. On January 17th, she played for the Rose Basketball Club at Wayfair Arena in Miami, proving her dominance in the game.
McDonald’s describes the Bold BBQ Sauce as a “game-changer,” offering a “sweet, savory, and slightly spicy” twist to the classic burger. The price of the meal will vary by location.
Jennifer “JJ” Healan, McDonald’s VP of marketing, emphasized the brand’s deep basketball ties: “We’re excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning.”
