Angel Reese, the LSU star turned WNBA rookie, has had quite the debut season in the league, but it’s come to an unexpected end. The forward took to Instagram to share her feelings after a season-ending injury, reflecting on her journey, the challenges she’s faced, and what’s next for her career.
In her post, Reese shared a powerful message about her growth in the league, her determination to make an impact, and her faith in what’s to come. *”What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3, but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol.”* She continued to express gratitude, explaining how proud she is of her rookie season despite the naysayers. *”Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so.”*
Reese’s season-ending injury has her sidelined for the rest of the year, but her determination remains strong. *”I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season-ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next,”* she admitted. It’s clear that while this wasn’t the way she planned to finish her first year in the WNBA, her faith and focus remain intact. She’s taking this time to rest and heal, both physically and mentally, trusting in *“God’s timing”* and preparing for her comeback in year two.
Even with the injury, Reese made it clear that she’s not going anywhere. *”You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon!”* As she gears up for recovery, fans are excited to see the growth and impact she will continue to bring to the WNBA.
