Louisiana State University star Angel Reese doesn’t want people to feed into the internet chatter.
On Sunday, Reese “Please don’t believe everything you read.” This seems to be a response to the recent speculation over her basketball career. Reese has been noticeably absent from her beloved LSU team. On Friday, coach Kim Mulkey would only say, “Angel is part of this basketball team, and we hope to see her sooner than later.”
While she wouldn’t give a concrete answer as to why, it has been rumored that Reese is suspended from the team due to a drop in her GPA. Some outlets report a “bad attitude” led her to the bench.

The theories swirling around her game were only made worse when her mother, Angel Webb Reese, and teammate Flau’jae Johnson’s mom, Kia Brooks, got into a social media argument. Webb seemingly brought the issues to Instagram in a post aimed at someone who texted her phone with a plethora of grammatical errors, making it difficult to read. Brooks took this as a shot toward her and took to her own IG with a few words.
“You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA. And in fact, when writing your smart message, you didn’t capitalize, nor did you use any periods. Stop being petty, fake, and hateful, and take responsibility for you and your daughter’s actions. You just as responsible; you raised her that way. Nobody give a damn who you think you are since you came up off another’s brand,” Brooks wrote.

Johnson hasn’t spoken out publicly about the drama with her teammate and their mothers.
