Angel Reese insists people respect her contributions to the WNBA’s popularity.
The Chicago Sky rookie argued that she deserves the same recognition as Caitlin Clark for boosting the league’s profile.
I will always be the “bad guy,” she said.
‘I’ll take that because look where women’s basketball is. People are talkin’ about women’s basketball that you would never think to talk about women’s basketball.”
Additionally, she emphasized that the surge in WNBA popularity is not solely due to Caitlin, as many have claimed.
Reese wants everyone to recognize her role in the league’s rising profile as well.
“It’s not just because of one person. It’s because of me too and I want you to realize that,” Reese said.
“A lot of us have done so much for this game … there are so many great players in this league that have deserved this for a really really long time and luckily, it’s coming now.”
Do you think Angel Reese’s contributions to the WNBA’s popularity are being overshadowed by the attention given to Caitlin Clark? How do you see their impact on the league?
