Angel Reese called it out after yesterday’s game: she’s a dog. Reese finished the one-point victory over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever with a career-high 25 points and 16 rebounds. The Chicago Sky came back strong, and Reese spearheaded the comeback with her energy, achieving her record eight double-doubles in a row.
Reese out-dueled guard Caitlin Clark, who finished with 17 points and a career-high 13 assists. This duo has driven up the demand for WNBA games. According to Vivid Seats, the average cost per ticket was $351.
At the 6:38 mark in the fourth quarter, the Chicago Sky was trailing 82-70. By the 3-minute mark, a Reese rebound and a putback tied the game at 82-all, showcasing high-level defensive energy.
Guard Chennedy Carter helped Reese close out the Fever, finishing with 23 points and five assists on 66% shooting from the field. This was an important game for Carter, who had faced much scrutiny after the incident with Clark the last time they played.
When asked about the brewing rivalry considered the future of the league, Reese had this to say:
“It’s good for women’s basketball, but also for women’s sports,” Reese told the media. “You know everyone’s watching right now… I think both teams did an amazing job putting on a show. It was fun.”
