Angela Bassett Reveals Which Actress She Thinks Should Play Her In A Biopic

Angela Bassett is a phenomenal actress who has portrayed many important (real-life) women, including Tina Turner, Betty Shabazz, and Rosa Parks.

But the celebrated actress has some ideas on whom she would like to see play her if a film was made about her life.

According to Daily News, Bassett had to think deeply about her answer as she stopped to consider all the talented young actresses she admires today.

“I don’t know, there’s so many phenomenal young actresses out here today,” Bassett said during an interview with ABC Radio Networks’ Candice Williams.

Bassett decided on two, saying, “There’s, you know, the incredible Anika Noni Rose and Naturi Naughton and on and on and on,” she answered. “Just beautiful. And that’s just two of a list of many, just beautiful, sisters.”

The Golden Globe-winning actress has worked with both women on different projects in the past. She co-starred with Naughton in 2009’s Notorious. And she reportedly became good friends with Noni Rose, after the two were due to co-star with her in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.

“I appreciate their work [and] love them,” Bassett said of both actresses. “They can play me, if they so choose to….bring more talent to the table.”
