The season 16 finale of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” took a serious turn as Angela Oakley revealed deep financial troubles and marital strain with husband and former NBA star Charles Oakley.
Angela admitted her real estate dreams have backfired. “I have all of my money in these houses, and I’m in the ditch about all of them,” she told their therapist Wendy. With several failed house flips and mounting debt, Charles has stopped funding her ventures. “These houses have put a strain on our marriage,” Angela said. “Because I’m constantly asking Charles to pump more money into these properties, and now he’s at a point where he doesn’t want to.”
Angela expressed deep regret over not heeding her husband’s advice.
“I definitely feel so bad about that,” she said. Still, she’s willing to walk away from real estate to prioritize her marriage. “Sometimes, you have to cut off your finger to save your hand, and that’s what I’m doing.”
Their struggles aren’t just financial. Angela confronted cheating rumors after a man crashed a group event with claims about Charles. She told Charles, and he responded, “Whatever they’re saying is a lie… But you trust me, right?”
Angela trusted him, despite lingering doubts. “Charles and I have been through a lot. But right now we’re good. I trust him.”
The finale ended with unresolved tensions, especially after the mystery man accused castmate Phaedra Parks of orchestrating the drama. Angela’s final word: “That ain’t no tea, sis. I will tell you everything I’m going through, honey. And I will get out of it.”
