Angela Yee may have left “The Breakfast Club,” but fans and even her former co-host have a lot to say about her recent comments regarding her time on the show.
The thriving content creator and broadcaster joined “The Tamron Hall Show” days ago, where she shared being not just the only female host but the sole woman who worked there. According to Yee, there weren’t any ladies even on the production side, which sometimes proved a bit difficult.
“I was the only woman who worked there, too; I mean, when it came to producers, camera people, and it wasn’t an easy room for me to be in,” she told Hall, adding that at times she wished she had “backup,” to understand her point of view.
As the clip of the interview ran rampant on the internet, she was widely criticized by many, one of which being her former co-host, DJ Envy. He took the comment section of The Shade Room to downright accuse Yee of telling a fib to Hall.
“That’s just not true,” he wrote. He then followed up with a separate comment, “There are plenty of women that work behind the scenes on the @breakfastclubam.”
Fans also took to social media to question her intentions about speaking with her co-hosts, even though she did not appear to have ill intentions. The irony is that earlier in Yee’s interview with Hall, she did confirm feeling as if she caught the brunt of the backlash.

Angela Ye using the Women Empowerment card for promoting her new show is exactly why I say what I say lol.
It started out as a great thing but now crying wolf for promotion for her new show is taking away from those who actually been getting victimized 👎🏾 @angelayee

For Angela Yee it wasn’t about you policing your cohost, it’s about you as a women standing up for other women when needed. There were way too many times where you dropped the ball.
