Angelina Jolie opens up about feeling “hurt” when her then-husband Brad Pitt chose to continue working with disgraced Hollywood movie producer Harvey Weinstein.
During an interview with The Guardian, Jolie revealed that Weinstein had once attempted to assault her when she worked on the film “Playing By Heart.”
The “Maleficent” actress described the experience, saying, “If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault.”
Jolie recalled telling her first husband, Jonny Lee Miller, to tell people in the industry about Weinstein and not to let “girls go alone with him.”
While Jolie vowed never again to work with Weinstein, who was convicted of rape in February 2020 after multiple allegations of misconduct and allegations.
She said she was disappointed when her now ex-husband, Pitt, chose to star in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 film Inglourious Basterds, which was co-produced by Weinstein.
“We fought about it,” she revealed. “Of course it hurt.”
