Angie Martinez Leaves Hot 97 For Competitor Power 105

It’s official, as we previously reported, NY radio legend Angie Martinez resigned from Hot 97 today. We had a sneaking suspicion that she’d be making her way to the rival Power 105.1 radio station and it looks like we were correct. According to Bossip, inside sources say that her contract has been OFFICIALLY signed & you will be hearing Angie every day on Power 105 starting tomorrow. A few sources of our own say that Power 105 is to make the official announcement tomorrow and now that Cherry Martinez (who normally does middays) is gone, that is likely to be the spot Angie will take over. Also we hear that Angie Martinez will be syndicated, which means more people across the country will be able to hear Angie locally. That’s pretty good news.

I have one more prediction. I personally believe that no one leaves a radio station they’ve been with for 25 years to go to another, so there has to be a huge incentive. As a radio personality, where do you go from radio? My guess, television. Because Power 105 has a deal with Diddy’s Revolt TV, could this mean we’ll be seeing more Angie on our television screens? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned and find out.
