Anheuser-Busch has made an executive decision to pull Travis Scott-branded hard seltzer from shelves following the Astroworld music festival tragedy.
“After careful evaluation, we have decided to stop all production and brand development of CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer. We believe brand fans will understand and respect this decision.” the beverage giant said in a statement Friday, TMZ reported.
Reps for the “Sicko Mode” rapper tried to distance the recent announcement from the tragedy, saying Travis was “not focused on business right now.”
“His priority is helping his community and fans heal. CACTI asked AB InBev to inform their wholesalers there will not be product at this time,” they said.
Ten people died, and hundreds were injured during the terrifying crowd surge that took place at Scott’s Nov. 5 concert in Houston.
Since the event, the 30-year-old musician has been lying low but finally sat down for his first extended interview with radio host Charlamagne Tha God on Thursday.
Scott has maintained he didn’t realize the chaos taking place during his performance but did tell the Breakfast Club host he had “a responsibility to figure out what happened.”
“I have a responsibility to find a solution,” he said. “Hopefully, this takes a first step into us as artists having more insight as to what’s going on.”
