The man accused of abducting and murdering the step-daughter of UFC fighter #WaltHarris had an outburst in court, telling the judge, “Y’all have no video, no audio of me shooting anyone!”
Ibraheem Yazeed is accused of murdering 19-year-old college student #AniahBlanchard. The teen was last seen at a convenience store in Auburn, Alabama, on Oct. 23. After Blanchard disappeared, an individual told authorities that Yazeed was at a home in Montgomery with Blanchard’s car. “Yazeed admitted to shooting a girl and stated the girl ‘went for the gun,'” according to statements made by the same individual in court documents against Yazeed.
After a month-long police search, Blanchard was found dead in a wooded area of Shorter, Alabama, on Nov. 25. Blanchard died from a gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a homicide, authorities said. Yazeed was initially charged with 1st-degree kidnapping, but when he appeared in court for the new charged, he caused a scene. “I got rights too,” Yazeed told the judge. “Y’all have no video, no audio of me shooting anyone, that’s why I’m trying to see how y’all going to bind me over on hearsay. But y’all aren’t presenting no evidence.”
But, officials do have a video showing Yazeed at the same gas station where Blanchard was last seen before her disappearance. In addition, a witness says Yazeed forced Blanchard into her car, which was later found covered in blood. Another witness says they saw Yazeed with a gun tucked in his shorts while in possession of Blanchard’s car. Two other people have been charged related to this case, but authorities believe Yazeed acted alone when killing Blanchard.
