Anita Baker revealed some newish music to her fans Monday ahead of her upcoming tour.
Back in November, the singer revealed that she would be going on tour starting February 2023 to mark the 40th anniversary of her debut album, The Songstress.
The R&B legend took to Twitter to share her new song after promising fans new music last week.
In her post, she previewed a track titled “Unconditionally Yours,” which was reportedly teased over a decade ago.
The song gives praise to her “80s Contemporary” influences like Sarah Vaughn, Patti LaBelle, and Aretha Franklin while also crediting “innovators” like Missy Elliott and Beyoncé, who influenced her to “keep creating her own little Miracles of Music.”
As a way to “Support and Uplift Each Other,” she also acknowledged the talents of others, including Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, and Whitney Houston.
Baker didn’t specify when the song would be released, but fans are hoping it would be soon.
