The dust has settled for the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers as their new all-NBA players arrive for their first practice. Anthony Davis was seen sporting his new Mavericks threads yesterday and also spoke with the media.
He touched on the idea of playing with Kyrie Irving– something they spoke about seven years ago.
“Me and Kai talked about this, I think in 2018… We’ve been wanting to play alongside each other for a very long time.”

“I’m very excited, I mean me and Kai talked about this in 2018,” Davis told the Dallas media. “When I asked for a trade from New Orleans, he was in Boston I think, at the time, and he ended up leaving going to Brooklyn.”
At practice, Irving and Davis were all smiles playing one-on-one.
Many fans have spoken about Kyrie not being a pure point guard, however, Irving is a seasoned vet who is one of the best out of the pick-and-roll in the league. Davis and Irving can easily co-exist and thankfully for Mavericks fans, they’ve already envisioned it before.
Luka Doncic had his first practice with the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday after their blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers behind a huge game from LeBron James and Austin Reaves. Doncic was his usual self, hitting half-court shots after practice.

James, Reaves, and Luka took some time to shoot some three-pointers after practice. Fans are calling them the newest trio that the NBA needs to be on notice about. Davis plans to play his first game more than likely this weekend against the Houston Rockets Saturday at home. The crowd’s reaction will be interesting, to say the least.
