Ayesha Howard, who shares children with rapper Lil Baby and NBA star Anthony Edwards, had time and a message for critics during an Instagram Live session that quickly began circulating across social media.
Howard, who’s faced ongoing public scrutiny over her relationships with two high-profile men, responded to claims from internet commenters labeling her a “gold digger” or accusing her of keeping her children “for a check.” But this time, she wasn’t holding back.
In her viral live session, Ayesha directly addressed the judgment she receives and flipped the script on her critics.
“I read comments that say, oh, you’re a gold digger or you kept the baby for a check,” she said. “What if I came to y’all’s pages and looked at the men y’all chose to have kids with? I could say, ‘You were digging for poverty.’”
The outspoken mom didn’t stop there. She called out the double standards she believes exist when it comes to how people view women based on the men they have children with.
“You kept that baby for an income tax credit or a couple hundred in food stamps,” she said. “Or was it an extra Section 8 voucher?”
She made it clear that she didn’t appreciate strangers projecting their personal experiences onto her life. “Y’all had babies for the weed man, the dude robbing everybody, or the booster,” she said. “How are you telling me what you would’ve done with options you never had?”
Ayesha’s point was clear: she refuses to let strangers define her narrative or judge her circumstances without context.
