Many people are not happy with our new president-elect and they’ve taken to the streets to announce it.
On Wednesday, thousands of people hit the streets in rallies organized across the country, protesting against the president-to-be, Donald Trump. Rallies in New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Austin, TX and many other cities saw major turn outs.
Thousands of protesters gathered outside of the Trump Tower in Chicago, Wednesday night. That number was multiplied in New York, as protesters gathered in Union Square. By early Thursday morning, the number of protesters in the city rose to about 100,000.
In the Bay Area, high school students from three area schools staged a walk out in protest of Trump’s presidency. About 300 students from Richmond High School, John F. Kennedy High School and El Cerrito High School began marching toward Richmond City Hall around 1 pm Wednesday.
One sentiment echoed throughout the rallies nationwide, people did not want Donald Trump as president. Scattered chants of “Not my president” and “Black Lives Matter” echoed through the streets no matter what city it was.
