New details from the Antioch High School shooting investigation reveal disturbing writings by 17-year-old Solomon Henderson, who is accused of killing 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante in a cafeteria attack. Among the details in his manifesto, Henderson credited conservative commentator Candace Owens as one of his primary influences, alongside expressing anti-Black and anti-Semitic views.
The writings, obtained by NewsChannel 5 Investigates, included a detailed layout of the school, photos of a handgun, ammunition, and lock-picking tools. Henderson also shared plans to livestream the attack, which he intended to carry out in the cafeteria. The manifesto was linked to a social media account reportedly belonging to Henderson, where the materials were posted before the shooting.
Henderson’s writings revealed a deep sense of racial self-hatred, stating he was “ashamed to be Black.” He also referenced propaganda from the Goyim Defense League, a neo-Nazi group that visited Nashville last summer. The writings included anti-Semitic rhetoric and links to other mass shooter manifestos.
In a surprising admission, Henderson credited Owens, a conservative Black commentator, as his top influence. “Candace Owens influenced me above all each time she spoke,” he wrote. Owens, known for her polarizing views on race and culture, previously lived in Nashville and has been criticized for controversial statements on systemic racism and other social issues.
Henderson’s writings also revealed his struggles with mental health and feelings of isolation. In one entry, he described himself as “miserable” and struggling with suicidal thoughts. “I wanted to kill myself. I just couldn’t take anymore. I am a worthless subhuman, a living breathing disgrace,” he wrote, adding that he spent his days “dissociating.”
Despite his despair, Henderson clarified that he did not consider himself a victim of bullying but voiced disdain for the school environment. “School is a daycare,” he wrote. “We’re taught to wake up early, shut up, sit for long periods of hours, do tasks you hate, then repeat.”
Henderson’s writings also referenced The Covenant School shooting in 2023, where a shooter killed six people, including three children, at a Nashville private school. He included a photo of that shooter in his manifesto and praised other mass shooters, even linking to guides on how to carry out such attacks.

Candace owens responds:
It is truly sickening that people would use the death of a young 16 year old girl to try to quickly score political points, rather than to responsibly make sure that what they are sharing is accurate.
Regarding the alleged “manifesto”, it is an obvious troll. How can you tell?… pic.twitter.com/P0ISEnwv4u— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) January 23, 2025
