A former live-in chef is accusing Tampa Bay Bucs receiver Antonio Brown of obtaining a fake covid-19 vaccination card.
Chef Steven Ruiz claimed he received a text from the NFL star’s girlfriend, Cydney Moreau, in July, stating that Brown was willing to pay $500 for a fake Johnson & Johnson vaccination card. He decided to go public with the accusation because he says Brown owes him $10,000.
“Can you get the COVID cards?” Moreau texted Ruiz on July 2, according to a screenshot he provided to the Tampa Bay Times.
“I can try,” Ruiz responded.
“JNJ shot. Ab said he would give you $500,” Moreau texted.
Ruiz told the outlet that he was unable to obtain the fake vaccine card for Brown, but the Super Bowl champion acquired one elsewhere a few weeks later.
In response to the news story, the Bucs released a statement saying the club has “received completed vaccination cards from all Tampa Bay Buccaneers players.”
An attorney for Brown also released a statement saying, “Antonio Brown appreciates the severity of the pandemic, which is why he got the vaccine and supports everyone for whom it is advisable to get the vaccine,” Burstyn texted the newspaper. “Coronavirus has hit close to home as it took him out of a game. He is healthy, vaccinated, and ready to win another Super Bowl.
“One of the worst parts of the pandemic has been a movement to cast doubt on our country’s vaccination programs with baseless, vindictive tabloid gossip.”
Moreau also denied the claims and said she did not know Ruiz.
