During a recent appearance on the One Night With podcast, the former Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star openly discussed his financial troubles. When asked how much of his fortune he had spent, Brown responded bluntly: “Well, I just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, so I spent all of it. I blew all of my money. I blew everything.”
Brown originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2024, citing debts and lawsuits as the primary reason. At the time, he claimed the filing was a strategic move to restructure his finances and repay his obligations.
The seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion also claimed that his NFL earnings were taken and put into trusts for his family’s future generations, leaving him without access to the funds. “My people in my life, they just took the money I made in the NFL and they didn’t make that money mine no more,” Brown explained. “They put it away for my family generation, my kids’ kids.”
Over his 12-year NFL career, Brown accumulated over 12,000 receiving yards and was once considered one of the league’s most dominant receivers.
