AP Issues Apology for Snubbing Babyface During Grammys Interview [Video]

The Associated Press (AP) issued a public apology after reporters Krysta Fauria and Leslie Ambriz cut short an interview with Babyface during the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The awkward moment, which quickly went viral, sparked a backlash after the legendary musician was dismissed for rising star Chappell Roan.

During the red carpet broadcast at Crypto.com Arena, Fauria abruptly ended her conversation with Babyface to shift focus to Roan, who was seen in the background. Babyface, remaining professional, handed back the microphone and politely said, “So sorry, Babyface. So sorry,” before stepping aside.

The incident didn’t sit well with fans, including celebs, who both voiced their frustration over the snub on social media.

Many fans echoed their sentiment, calling the reporters’ behavior disrespectful to an artist with decades of influence in the music industry.

In response to the backlash, AP publicly apologized, saying, “We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet. We have apologized to him through his representative and to our viewers on the livestream.“
