Apple released a new MagSafe battery pack last week to charge the brand’s iPhone 12 line. Made for easy, on-the-go charging, the battery back will set you back $99. It is currently available on the Apple website.
The batter back is compatible with Apple’s iPhone 12, iPhone12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 Mini models.
The battery pack is made of polycarbonate and silicone materials and attaches to the phone via a magnet. The pack automatically charges the phone, and you do not have to turn it on and off. It was designed not to interfere with credit cards or key fobs.
According to Apple, when the MagSafe battery is connected to your iPhone, it can charge it with up to 5 watts of power. Sitting at your desk and need a charge? You can plug a Lightning cable into the pack and charge it with 15W of wireless charging. To shorten the charging time, use a 20W or higher power adapter, and you can charge both the phone and the battery pack faster.
MagSafe charging and accessories made their debut with iPhone 12 line in October. The portable charger joins other accessories, such as cases, chargers, a wallet, and mounts already available.
