Apple Watch Ban Temporarily Lifted

The Apple Watch import ban has been temporarily lifted following Apple’s one-week suspension of sales for Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2.

According to TechCrunch, Apple confirmed that the Series 9 and Ultra 2 were back in stores and available online starting Thursday, Dec. 28.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) upheld a January ruling in October that Apple Watch’s blood-oxygen tracking technology infringes on a patent held by medical tech company Masimo.

The import ban led Apple to temporarily halt sales, a decision upheld despite a Biden administration veto rejection.

The appeals court intervened, temporarily lifting the ban, and it remains on pause until the court makes its next decision.
